1. Re: Help Please - exporting to pdf with bookmarks from InDesign
rollsnut Jan 25, 2012 4:27 PM (in response to rollsnut)I have the exporting piece fixed thanks to the InDesign Forum.
I'm still seeking to find a way to have the Bookmark Panel open automatically in Acrobat when the pdf file is opened.
Thanks,
Brad

CtDave Jan 25, 2012 4:32 PM (in response to rollsnut)You may have to give a closer look at what's happening in InDesign & follow up with questions to the InDesign forum ( http://forums.adobe.com/community/indesign ).
For PDFs, using Acrobat X Pro, you can make use of "Actions". Make an Action that uses the Open sequence which has been configured to set Initial View options for the PDFs.

rollsnut Jan 25, 2012 4:52 PM (in response to CtDave)If I create an Action\Macro like you suggest, would I first have to open the original flie, create the Action\Macro, then save? Would that make the action\macro universal to all opening the file on their machines even if they have only a pdf reader?
I do have Pro X.
Thanks,
Brad

CtDave Mar 2, 2012 5:26 AM (in response to rollsnut)Brad,
Using Acrobat X Pro you'd create the Action that evokes the "Open" sequence (which you'd configure as desired).
You do not have to have a PDF open to run the Action; although you must have Acrobat Pro running.
You can apply the Action to one or to many PDFs (within a given folder).
All PDFs that are processed by the Action will now have their Initial View configuration set as desired.
This Initial View setting tells Adobe Reader or Acrobat (any version) what the initial view shall be.
Be well...
