JSS1138 Jan 31, 2012 8:03 PM (in response to Saad Khan)Do you see it in the export when played back on your computer, or only in the Vimeo upload?

2. Re: Thin black line on top of video (vimeo) CS5.5
Saad Khan Feb 1, 2012 4:28 AM (in response to JSS1138)checked the exported clip and the thin black line is there as well. It's definitely not on the timeline.

3. Re: Thin black line on top of video (vimeo) CS5.5
JSS1138 Feb 1, 2012 5:18 AM (in response to Saad Khan)Try changing Pixel Aspect Ratio to Square in the Export settings.
Also try matching the media's frame rate of 50, instead of stepping it down to 25.

Saad Khan Feb 1, 2012 1:30 PM (in response to JSS1138)Hi Jim,
I exported a clip with the square pixel setting and found it to be the same.

8. Re: Thin black line on top of video (vimeo) CS5.5
Saad Khan Feb 1, 2012 1:54 PM (in response to Ann Bens)Yes. I have just started to export clip in a progressive sequence to see how that comes out.

10. Re: Thin black line on top of video (vimeo) CS5.5
Ann Bens Feb 1, 2012 2:55 PM (in response to Saad Khan)It must be in the original.
On Vimeo the line comes and goes random.

12. Re: Thin black line on top of video (vimeo) CS5.5
Saad Khan Feb 1, 2012 3:42 PM (in response to Ann Bens)You're right. I played the original and couldn't see anything. Then I played the exported file and could see the black line. On the sequence, I've added a horizontal and vertical flip as the video was shot upside down.
Then, I've sped the clip up to 160% using the clip duration speed. Then I used to time remapping to make the clip 1000%. Does it sound

Saad Khan Feb 1, 2012 5:22 PM (in response to Saad Khan)Hi Glenn,
Here is the screen shot of the output tab:
Also, I just compared the two different exports:
From a progressive field sequence and an Upper field sequence. The result from the upper field sequence gives me the best results. When I film the original footage is 50i. Does this sound right? Am I doing something wrong there?

14. Re: Thin black line on top of video (vimeo) CS5.5
Saad Khan Feb 1, 2012 10:56 PM (in response to Saad Khan)Sorry everyone reading this post. My mistake. The best result I got from export was a progressive sequence. Thin black line still there so not sure what's going on. Apologies Ann

Ann Bens Feb 2, 2012 4:00 AM (in response to Saad Khan)Your footage is 50p which means its 50 per second progressive.
Sequence setting should match.
What is the final destination going to be?

19. Re: Thin black line on top of video (vimeo) CS5.5
Saad Khan Feb 2, 2012 4:37 AM (in response to Ann Bens)Thanks Ann,
Well, there will be two final destinations. 1. Vimeo H.264 and the second will be Mpeg DVD
I looked at the media info file again. How did you see that it was a progressive clip? Just curious. For some reason I thought I was filming 50i.

Saad Khan Feb 3, 2012 6:43 AM (in response to Saad Khan)I have done more tests with a progressive preset sequence and the results are the same with the black lines on top. Would you have anymore suggestions?

23. Re: Thin black line on top of video (vimeo) CS5.5
Ann Bens Feb 3, 2012 7:14 AM (in response to Saad Khan)What if you scale the source up?

24. Re: Thin black line on top of video (vimeo) CS5.5
Stephen_Spider Feb 4, 2012 7:59 PM (in response to Powered by Design)With the title maker, create a thin white overlay matted on top of the video track. Maybe feather the edge of the white matte .
OR
Copy the video track and paste onto a higher track. On the lowest track, use motion tool to raise up the image a bit.
The objective the same either way. to mask out the crawling effect at the top.

25. Re: Thin black line on top of video (vimeo) CS5.5
JSS1138 Feb 3, 2012 8:50 AM (in response to Saad Khan)I've added a horizontal and vertical flip
As a test, eliminate that.
