Flash 11 and Chrome

Here's my scenario: I use Firefox as my main browser and use Chrome for playing certain games that work better with an older version of Flash (and the browser itself). I like to keep the Flash in Firefox up-to-date. This setup allowed 2 versions of (non-IE) Flash to coexist. However, something change when I update to Flash 11. It replace the built-in Flash in Chrome somehow. Even after "uninstalling" (which did not delete it's files in the system folder...), Chrome's version is still 11. I use a portable version of Chrome with no updater so nothing should have changed.

Anyway, I'm try to reinstall Flash for Firefox. When I go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/, it wants me to get 10.3.183.11. Ok, whatever, but when I click download it redirects me to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?no_file and won't start the download. What is going on?

Thank you for the direct links! Those should be on the main download page. That solves my firefox issue. Now regarding Chrome, I think I figured it out. The Flash installer added a new file called pepflashplayer.dll. I found this in my Chrome profile directory inside <profile>\PepperFlash\11.1.31.203. There was also a manifest.json file there. The dates on these two did not match the dates on all the other Chrome files (they were newer and very likely the date I ran the Flash installer but don't remember). I delete them and started Chrome. Flash worked and it was the old version! Using a process monitor, I saw it was using gcswf32.dll for Flash, which is under the normal app (not profile) directory. Seems like if pepflashplayer.dll is present it uses that instead.

That survey's not really applicable to my case as my problem was with the website http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/, not the installation. Besides telling me my OS isn't supported (XP64, which runs 32 and 64-bit Flash just fine) and suggesting an out-dated version (10.x), the download link redirected me to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?no_file  and wouldn't start the download. So, I have no idea if the installer would have worked or not. It never gave me one. I assumed if the site was functioning correctly, it would have gave me the same exe I got from the forum post, no?

On a related note, do you have a survey for that survey? Question #2 starts off with a conditional ("If your first installation attempt failed...") yet is required.

I understand, thanks for at least taking a look.  I did have an option in the survey for "did not fail" (or something to that effect) but removed it because I thought it might be confusing
