1. Re: Upagrading from CS2 to CS5.5 Design Standard
Mylenium Feb 12, 2012 1:19 AM (in response to BigJohnD)I guess it's just a matter of inserting them one by one, and I expect it'll be the usual Adobe convention of checking the existing licence number (from the installed apps or their installation disk?) and installing a new version along side the old. Am I correct?
Yes.
I see there are lots of thread about what happens when the new CS5.5 app opens the old style files, so I'll check them out in due course.
Of course file associations will be adjusted to point to the latest version.

BigJohnD Feb 15, 2012 7:10 AM (in response to Mylenium)CS5.5 arrived this morning. The installation was very straightforward and existing publications and drawings open easily in the corresponding upgraded versions.
I've yet to uninstall CS2, but it'll be soon.
Many thanks.

BobLevine Feb 15, 2012 7:46 AM (in response to BigJohnD)Be careful about that. It’s been known to break file associations.

BigJohnD Feb 15, 2012 4:14 PM (in response to BobLevine)CS2 uninstalled OK except for old InDesign CS2 files not being linked to InDesign C5.5 - as you said. It only took a mo to fix.
