1. Re: Updating to ACR 7.0 -
JimHess Feb 15, 2012 3:42 PM (in response to tidaldesigns)We won't know what new cameras will be supported in ACR 7 until it is released. And if Adobe continues their standard operating procedures ACR 7 will only be compatible with the new version of Photoshop. However, IF ACR 7 does support your camera you will be able to download the DNG converter version 7 and convert the raw files to DNG and use them with what you already have. Of course, there will always be the option to upgrade your Photoshop. Then, regardless of when support is added for your camera, you will be able to open your raw files.

2. Re: Updating to ACR 7.0 -
ssprengel Feb 15, 2012 3:43 PM (in response to tidaldesigns)During the beta period things might be a little off, but generally LR4 and ACR7 would support the same cameras when released. Without a public beta for ACR I don’t think you can even talk about ACR7 existing or being downloadable if you somehow have private-beta access and signed an NDA, so don’t expect anyone to confirm anything you’re asking about an ACR7 beta in a public forum such as this.

3. Re: Updating to ACR 7.0 -
tidaldesigns Feb 15, 2012 3:59 PM (in response to ssprengel)well, i keep gettting messages to download ACR 7. and didnt' bother to look for it. -
My Lumix LX3 (which is a couple years old now), I can not open it's files.
I don't understand why it's NOT supported when LX5 supposedly is? without having to download as .Dng files
I am aware of changing over to .dng, but im avoiding to at all costs.
I don't want yet ANOTHER step to do when importing my files.
**edit** I double checked, and as I thought, my LX3 files are supposed to be supported as of 'a while ago'...
Any ideas on where I may be going wrong? Thanks all -

5. Re: Updating to ACR 7.0 -
ssprengel Feb 15, 2012 4:53 PM (in response to tidaldesigns)LR3.6 and ACR 6.6 would support the same cameras.
LR4 and ACR7 would support the same cameras, but only LR4 is publically available as a beta. ACR7 is not available, yet.
What is it you’re saying supports the LX3, LR3.6/ACR 6.6 or only LR4?

6. Re: Updating to ACR 7.0 -
tidaldesigns Feb 15, 2012 5:04 PM (in response to ssprengel)What im saying is that LR3.6 is not opening the files.
I didn't try LR4 - im keeping as much possible out of LR4 at this point until final release.

7. Re: Updating to ACR 7.0 -
ssprengel Feb 15, 2012 5:15 PM (in response to tidaldesigns)I can see from your multiple postings in multiple forums, that the issue is your files seem to be corrupted, and it has nothing to do with LR4 or ACR7 so I will stop posting on this thread.

LR 4 is using a new processing version and needs ACR 7 in Photoshop CS6...which isn't shipping yet. You can still open the image into Photoshop with LR adjustments by having LR render the file. This is typical of situations where the version of LR is out of phase with ACR. When LR4 ships, it's expected that CS6 won't be too far behind.
However, none of this has anything to do with you not being able to open the raws...I think something else is going on.
