1. Re: LUMIX LX3 .rw2 files are not being recognized in LR 3.6
Hal P Anderson Feb 15, 2012 4:08 PM (in response to tidaldesigns)How are you trying to import? Card reader? Camera? From hard disk?
That camera has been supported for just about forever.
Have you ever been able to import files of that type?

ssprengel Feb 15, 2012 5:04 PM (in response to tidaldesigns)Please don’t post the same problem in many different threads…just keep replying to the same one.
Your photos are corrupted, somehow. Are these newly imported photos or have they been on your HD for a while, now?
If newly imported, then something appears wrong with your hardware involved with transferring the photos—reader,cables,usb-port or drivers of such hardware. If they are older photos, then something may be wrong with your hard-drive or computer memory that is corrupting files slowly.

4. Re: LUMIX LX3 .rw2 files are not being recognized in LR 3.6
Hal P Anderson Feb 15, 2012 5:23 PM (in response to tidaldesigns)If the problems started when you moved to Windows 7, you probably have trouble with permissions. Make sure you have full access to all your folders that contain images, your catalogue, and your previews (which are in the same folder as your catalogue).

6. Re: LUMIX LX3 .rw2 files are not being recognized in LR 3.6
tidaldesigns Feb 15, 2012 5:46 PM (in response to Hal P Anderson)yes, I do have permission and all folders showing.
The images before and after the .rw2 files (which are jpegs) i can see just fine. (from the same camera)
for example: can see 8500, and 8502 but cant see 8501 and 8503.
I was testing the camera by shooting both jpeg and .rw2.

7. Re: LUMIX LX3 .rw2 files are not being recognized in LR 3.6
tidaldesigns Feb 15, 2012 5:48 PM (in response to ssprengel)wasnt intending for it to be the same question. I was asking about ACR 7 and LR 4 and then I asked if I had to update to ACR 7 in order to view the files in LR 3, so it was a LR4 question and a LR3 question.
I honestly, wasnt trying to 'get one in' on anyone.
The computer is brand new -
The files were imported in from a HD but i cans see the jpegs which were shot at the same time as the .rw2 files.

8. Re: LUMIX LX3 .rw2 files are not being recognized in LR 3.6
ssprengel Feb 15, 2012 8:13 PM (in response to tidaldesigns)One idea would be to upload one of the files for others, here, to try and see if they see the same problem. If so, the files are corrupt and figuring out why would be very important. If not, then something may be preventing your installed programs from reading them, properly. Since the images have no thumbnail and the error is end-of-file, then perhaps they have been truncated. Look at their size in Explorer or Finder and that may be a clue about them being truncated.
If you don’t have your own webspace, you can use www.yousendit.com or www.dropbox.com and reply with the public download link.

10. Re: LUMIX LX3 .rw2 files are not being recognized in LR 3.6
ssprengel Feb 20, 2012 3:41 PM (in response to tidaldesigns)There is a way on Dropbox to create a public link. On my Windows PC I can do this by dragging the file to the Dropbox Public subfolder and once the file is there with a green checkmark, right-click and choose Copy Public Link, then past that into a message. I think the same sort of thing works on the Dropbox website, but I rarely use that.
