1. Re: How do you ad LR 3, LR 4 to the right click drop down window when clicking on image on desktop?
CSS Simon Feb 22, 2012 2:51 AM (in response to tidaldesigns)I don't think it can be done in LR. LR can't "open" an image until it's been imported.
Dead easy for Photoshop: simply right-click and image and choose "Open With...". If Photoshop isn't in the list, go to "Choose default program".

But at least you can do a right click import into Lightroom following your own advice for Photoshop.

tidaldesigns Feb 22, 2012 2:14 PM (in response to CSS Simon)but photoshop isnt an option. there is no icon, I only have folders to pick thru - and DUH on the LR, I forgot they need to be physically imported first. - DOH!
which file do I go to in order to get photoshop to be the program that opens? There are other viewing choices but all windows related and I dont have the Codec to open raw files.
And remember u r talking to an idiot when you explain it to me.

5. Re: How do you ad LR 3, LR 4 to the right click drop down window when clicking on image on desktop?
web-weaver Feb 22, 2012 2:20 PM (in response to tidaldesigns)Right-click the image in question and select <Open with>. If the program of your choice is not on the list go to the bottom of the fly-out menu and select <Choose default program>. Select your program from the list of <Recommended programs> or expand <Other programs> by clicking on the "+" sign. If you don't see the program of your choice click on <Browse> and select the program by navigating to the location where the program resides and clicking the .exe file (for instance for Lr you need to find the <lightroom.exe> file. This will add the program to the list of <Other programs> and you then can set it as the default program.
You need to do this separately for each type of image file that you have - i.e. for TIFF, PSD, CR2, JPG, etc.
After you did this for Lr 3.6 you have to do it for Lr4 and CS5 - although Photoshop might be already listed under the recommended programs.
When all the programs you need are listed, you have to manually select them by right-clicking the image and going to <Open with>.

web-weaver Feb 23, 2012 5:06 PM (in response to tidaldesigns)You know, this is not a question that concerns Lr but a question regarding Win 7. You are probably better off to post this question in the Win 7 forum on Microsofts website.
