1. Re: Does Premiere Elements 10 support importing of digital recordings of broadcast tv shows I've made ?
Steve Grisetti Feb 29, 2012 8:04 AM (in response to DonInBrunswick)Premiere Elements can not work with that format of video. You'll need to convert it to a more standard camcorder format or edit it in a program (possibly Windows MovieMaker) that can work with that format.

Bill Hunt Feb 29, 2012 10:59 AM (in response to DonInBrunswick)Welcome to the forum.
See HERE for a list of Supported File Formats, to convert to. The ultimate is DV-AVI Type II w/ 48KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV Audio. That is a very specific format/CODEC, and should Import and edit easily and beautifully.
Good luck,
Hunt

DonInBrunswick Feb 29, 2012 11:15 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Thank you for your answer. I'm not sure what you meant by "See HERE.....". I tried clicking on HERE but nothing happened. I had already looked on the Adobe web site and found under "Home/Using Adobe Premiere Elements 10/Importing and adding media" a list of supported video formats. That list does not include the format you listed as the ultimate, although the list does contain AVI Movie (.avi).
Could you suggest how I would go about converting the .wtv format files I have to a different format? I am new to doing video recording/editing, so have no idea of how that is done.
Don
