We use RoboHelp in our call center for our procedure binder - works great, but we've found an odd search function problem. We have several different processes on how to handle our calls when a customer record can't be found and it's called "member not found". But when we try to search for the words "member not found" it returns a message saying "The words you typed is not a valid expression." It's causing us some headaches as it's a common search. Doesn't seem to happen for any other item we've searched for. Entering "not found" works, but not "member not found". Any idea why and how to fix this? Is this combination of words some odd programming language thing?

Welcome to the forum.
I just tested that in WebHelp and Microsoft HTML Help (CHM) in a RoboHelp 9 project and it works fine.
However, you haven't said what version of RoboHelp you are using and what type of help you are creating. Please see the Sticky Topic "Before You Post" and always start a thread with that information.

Sorry about that. We are using RoboHelp 8 HTML. The document is our procedure binder and has been in use for a while. It's just this three-word phrase that seems to be the issue. (And the phrase is used throughout the document.) I've attached a screen shot, if that helps.

Have you tried with the phrase in quotes?

Yes, I did try quotes, but unfortunately, it didn't work either.

I have just tested RoboHelp 8 as well and it still works.
Are both the project and the folder you are generating to on your hard disk?
If yes to both, create a new project with just a couple of topics and test that.
