Kill the two dynamiclink processes if they are left going after you leave LR.
Thanks. I checked it again. It takes a while but then the two processes disappear.
But that does not solve my problem that picture import does take by ways to long when an avi is in the (sub-)directory. And video import does not work at all.
Well, if there are videos in the directory from which you are importing, it can take a while to produce thumbnails for those. I have no idea why you can't import videos at all. I import them every day without issue and yours if the first report I've heard that you can't import any videos of any type.
I only tried videos from a Canon Ixus 95IS.
And it seems that there are a lot of problems with videos at least in the beta version: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/946995?start=0&tstart=0
What I do not understand why importing of pictures takes so long, if the videos are already imported (when using the LR3 converted catalog).
I am also having issues.
I can not import new videos, either from card reader or direct from camera(s) nor can I import existing videos from local drives into catalog.
The solutions presented in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/946995?start=0&tstart=0 also did not work for me.
