Incoyp cs4, indesign cs5.
I have 11x17 maps not in text threads in my indesign file.
When the incopy users open my layout, they don't see the maps.
Is there anyway to get them to see the maps without them being in the text threads?
Pretty dangerous workflow you have there. Everyone should be on the same version.
That said, are these assignments or layouts they’re opening?
I have assignments set up in indesign. They open my indesign layout and check out each chapter
How can I get them to see the figures not in the text threads?
So, they’re opening the INDD file? Is everyone on the same server?
That’s impossible AFAIK. There’s no way InCopy CS4 can open an INDD file created in CS5.
You need to tell us EXACTLY what your workflow is and a few screenshots of the export process as well as what the InCopy users are seeing wouldn’t hurt, either.
I Just checked with the incopy users, they do have cs5, sorry for some reason I thougth it was cs4.
But what about the question of them viewing images not in the text threads?
I told you…I need details on the export procedure and some screenshots.
What are the exact options you’re choosing when exporting? Are they seeing the other images?
I didn’t know you need screen shots.
I’m not exporting anything. I create the assignments and they open my indesign file in incopy.
Is there a missed step?
The act of creating assignments and content is an export.
Ok, so am I missing a step, why can’t they see images not in the text threads?
Are they opening the assignment or the INDD file?
The indd file
Then please post a screenshot of the InDesign layout as it appears in InDesign and InCopy.
You can use the little camera icon to do so. Do not use the attachment button…it doesn’t work.
