Hi,
We have application on Oracle and D2K. Is it possible to create context sensitive help (What's this) for RoboHelp for HTMLHelp(.chm) and WinHElp (.hlp)?

Regards,
Meenakshmi

Hi Meenakshmi. You can certainly create "What's This" type help in both CHM and HLP files. You just need to create a map file that maps the application call to a specific help topic. How your Oracle and D2K applications do this is down to the developers. Normally all you'll have to do is give them a map file containing the mapids and they should do the rest.

Yes you can Meenakshmi. It works in a similar way to HTML Help or Winhelp. The only difference is the call from the application which uses a different call syntax. Your developers should be able to help set up the application with this. From a RH perspective, just setup the map file in the normal manner and supply the map file to your developer - unless they've already provided you with a map file that is

Hi,

Can it be field level sensitive? Can you provide me with a sample?

Hi Meenakshmi,

Check out this great article by John Daigle.

http://www.adobe.com/devnet/robohelp/articles/context_help.html

Please also check out the following examples:

http://www.adobe.com/support/robohelp/webhelp.html

You may not find the exact content for the code calls, but the links should help you get on the right track. There is also a lot of useful information specifically for developers in Robohelps own online help.

Kind Regards
Craig

I don't see why not although I don't use field level help so can't provide a sample. Is there a specific reason why form based CSH won't suffice?
