    CS5.5 Audition crash on start

I just installed CS5.5 and started Audition. It immediately gave me a crash report as follow.  I can't even start the app to change setting from the preference.

I'm running Win7 Ultimate x64 on my iMac 2010 and on this Windows enviroment, everything else from CS5.5 seems working except for Audition.  I tried installing Audition 3.01 and it works perfectly.  Can someone please advise what seems to be the problem?

I have tried uninstalling Audition from the suite and reinstall and the problem is still there.  Does anyone know anything wrong with my audition or my computer?

Thanks in advance for your kind help!

I have got the same problem, similar configuration: MacPro, 8 cores, 16 GB Ram, bootcamp, Windows 7 Ultimate, Adobe Master Collection CS5.5.

Hopefully someone will supply a solution to this problem soon!

          With kind regards, Christian

Actually I just found out that, when I log in as Administrator, Adobe Audition starts up just fine. So, there must be an issue with permissions or so. I have a similar problem with using plugs-ins in After Effects - they work fine when logged in as Administrator but they don't when logged in as a different user - even though that different user has got Administrator rights.

Anyone who has got an idea on what the problem might be?

            Gratefu for any reply!

            With kind regards, Christian

This has been a known-about problem for a long time. Just having Administrator rights makes no difference - I think that this has everything to do with where Audition puts its user settings, and where it looks at startup for them. There won't be a fix for this in CS5.5, as the developers have widely indicated that there's a new, much improved version on its way soon.
