It could happen as early as February. There are some demo videos of this new feature floating around. With this new upcoming feature, you add twitter or Facebook links to your folio articles. Customers can then share the folio with others. When the recipients click the link on their desktop machines, a web version of the folio will open. More details to follow...

Branislav Milic Jan 30, 2012 8:50 AM (in response to Johannes Eckert)This is what I was thinking with my post about the PDF format.
If Folio turns to be the "ePublishing PDF" it is going to be a hit.

BobLevine Jan 30, 2012 9:30 AM (in response to Bob Bringhurst - Adobe)This does sound exciting.
Any idea of which current features will be broken when it’s released?
Sorry, couldn’t resist just a little bit of gallows humor.

To be clear, you're not actually publishing a folio to a website. Here's a link to a video that provides more information. The social media section is around the 45-minute mark:

Peter Villevoye Jan 31, 2012 12:51 AM (in response to mooniac_1983)I guess it's not as much as being able to distribute folio files freely, it's more showing it immediately. As is presented in this Max Sneak Peek: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/max-2011-sneak-peeks/max-2011-sneak-peek-indesign-liquid-layout/

S Drakov Jan 31, 2012 2:04 AM (in response to Peter Villevoye)The liquid layout feature its amazing.
When would it be coming out?
and also, what are the chances of people actually being able to watch folios on a webpage? or being able to download them to watch them on their regular laptop or desktop computer?

13. Re: publishing a folio on a website?
SpeedsterMag Mar 28, 2012 4:22 AM (in response to S Drakov)Coming late to this, as I'm new to DPS, I have a further query. If the .folio is part of a paid for app in Newsstand etc, will it be possible to offer paid subscription to view the editionb online, for readers who don't own tablets?
Additionally, will the analytics aspect of this still work on the we-based version to record statistics on all viewing platforms?

jbalmain Mar 28, 2012 4:38 AM (in response to mooniac_1983)so is this possible now or not ?

15. Re: publishing a folio on a website?
SpeedsterMag Mar 28, 2012 4:46 AM (in response to jbalmain)I don't know, but I guess it can't be far away. That will give the perfect platform for magazines.
Just now sure how they will cost it as part of the charge for folio bundles and how it will work if you're selling a subscription vi a website as opposed to iTunes.

17. Re: publishing a folio on a website?
Brian0523 Apr 3, 2012 11:24 AM (in response to mooniac_1983)It's coming in the second half of 2012. Did you watch/listen to the video?

18. Re: publishing a folio on a website?
SpeedsterMag Apr 3, 2012 11:33 AM (in response to Brian0523)I'd listen to the video, but at 45 minutes, it's too much time to spend when I need tomake business decisions about which platform to go with. Perhaps a transcript or more concise presentation would have been useful.
Second half of 2012 would be fine.

19. Re: publishing a folio on a website?
Ibmec_EAD Apr 9, 2012 3:05 PM (in response to mooniac_1983)I understood right? This feature will not be free? The Adobe will tell to us that the folio files do not belong to us? We will not be able to upload our folio files and simply publish them in our websites?
