I reviewed forum discussions on HTML editors other than RoboHelp's WYSIWYG editor. Can you recommend a "clean" WYSIWYG editor that won't give code bloat?

Hi xbet

Many prefer the venerable Dreamweaver (also sold by Adobe). However, if you are after truly squeaky clean code, nothing beats Windows Notepad. Unless, of course, you want to do it all using something like a HEX editor and use Assembly language.

Cheers... Rick

Egh? Doesn't that depend on who is using Notepad?

I would prefer an editor with WYSIWYG capabilities, preferable shareware. I ran across a product called Nvu. Any feedback on it? I just want to edit existing HTML files.

xbet,

Dreamweaver has a most excellent WYSIWYAG what you see is what you actually get) view and it is easy to switch between the editor and viewer. The editor is very easy to use.

What editor was used to edit the existing HTML files?

Cheers
Craig

Are there any specific issue that you are worried about? e.g. performance?

NVU is quite good but it is not as polished as Dreamweaver. You need a better understanding of HTML and style sheets.

I didn't like the way it laid out some of the code, not as easy to read.

You get what you pay for. For something that is free, then it is a very good tool.

And what, pray tell, is wrong with a little code bloat?
