klee001 Apr 12, 2012 12:51 PM (in response to John T Smith)Thank you, I understand that part. I have a copy of Encore 1.5 that I bought on eBay. Just curious if I need the OLD Premiere in order to upgrade the Encore?
I don't plan to use the Premiere software so I'm ok with not being able to upgrade that since I don't own an older version of it.
I'm asking, because if this is possible to do, it will be my least expensive option to get the latest version of Encore.
Let me know if you know the answer to that? Thanks again . . .

Ann Bens Apr 12, 2012 1:14 PM (in response to klee001)You cannot upgrade to Premiere CS5.5 with Encore 1.5.
To upgrade with Encore it needs to be version 2.0.

5. Re: Upgrade from Encore DVD 1.5
klee001 Apr 12, 2012 3:30 PM (in response to John T Smith)On the Adobe website it states the following:
customers who have earlier versions of Adobe Encore DVD (1.x or 2.0) may upgrade to the full Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 product for the standard upgrade price
I just need to know . . . Do I need the OLD version of Premiere in order to upgrade Encore? I understand I can't upgrade Premiere without having a copy of it but can I upgrade Encore??
Thank you for your input.

Stan Jones Apr 12, 2012 4:09 PM (in response to klee001)Can you provide the link? I do not see that except for a French page (mostly in English!) that does not actually have that text on the page.
Bottom line: contact Adobe sales.

the_wine_snob Apr 13, 2012 12:26 PM (in response to klee001)I suggest going to the Adobe Store, and using the Live Chat function. That will allow you to tell the technician exactly what you have, and ask them exactly what you possible upgrade paths, plus prices, might be. Used it this AM for something else, and it was very effective.
Good luck,
