Digital Editions keeps track of where the library is located in the

'Manifest.xml' file. If you used a utility program to move the Digital

Editions library, then the Manifest.xml file will not have the correct

location of the library and would give you this error.

Don't mess with the Zohan.

There's about a million things that you could tell us to help make your

situation clearer, and thus the answer less confusing. You' can tell us

what you did, what kind of PC you're working on (whether it runs Windows 7

or Windows something-else) and how you downloaded and installed ADE. You

can tell us why you think that ADE should help you download ebooks. And

you can tell us what site you're working with. Anything more than you've

said so far that helps to clarify what you meant in your post will help us

be less confused - and help you to that goal as well.

Ok.I have Windows Vista, I downloaded ADE from this site. I am working from NetGalley.com to review books and the website says that if i dont have a Kindle I should be able to download the EBook straight from the website to ADE.

"this site" - ?

The normal process would be to register with Adobe, then download ADE,

which would install directly from the Adobe website. If you didn't

register, and/or downloaded ADE from somewhere else, then that might not

work. When ADE downloads, it installs itself, AND establishes the links to

its folders, so I suspect now that something went wrong during the

installation, rather than some issues that you might have caused using

utility programs.

Vista is not a 'robust' operating system, and it's also possible that Vista

'hiccuped' during the ADE install and screwed up the registry entries.

If you registered with Adobe and then downloaded ADE, we can check a couple

of settings to see what's up.
