Adobe Flash Player 11

I am runnig Windows XP SP3, having installed the Flash Player I get the message 'you are now running adobe flash player'

but cannot open any messages ( like debit card statements or videos) I get the message 'requires Flash Player, not installed.

Can anyone give me a fix ?.
