2. Re: Opacity Keyframe does not work
DVDmike Apr 28, 2012 8:54 PM (in response to Todd_Kopriva)I think that I have pretty much already answered most of the questions.
Win7 64bit mercury playback, yes I have have 3rd party plug-ins installed, but I am all effects turned off except time remapping right out of Ppro and opacity. Source footage is H.264 in a .mov container. The issue happens in preview and on export.

3. Re: Opacity Keyframe does not work
JSS1138 Apr 29, 2012 2:42 PM (in response to DVDmike)I simply apply opacity keyframes to do a fade out
Try a dissolve effect instead.

5. Re: Opacity Keyframe does not work
DVDmike Apr 30, 2012 1:39 PM (in response to Peru Bob)I got around the issue by exporting my sequence as an uncompressed .avi file and importing it back in and applying opacity keyframes on that. This is what has always killed me about Premiere, no matter what version, what hardware (never used it on a Mac), what OS, there are always simple little things that just don't work right for me. At any rate, thanks for the suggestions. I was able to get my little project completed.
For future reference, if I should ever need to export to a single rendered clip with affects applied so that I can add more effects and preview in real time without having to rerender the effects in the clip that I have already finalized, what is the best preset to do this with? In this case, I was using 1920x1080 30p footage. And uncompressed is quite a large file. But what is a good codec to use for 720p or 1080p which does not introduce much generation loss when you save it and import it back to make further edits?

6. Re: Opacity Keyframe does not work
JSS1138 Apr 30, 2012 1:45 PM (in response to DVDmike)I like the free and lossless UT codec for that purpose.
http://umezawa.dyndns.info/archive/utvideo/
(And with version 11, it looks like Mac users can now encode UT into MOVs, making it a free, lossless, cross-platform DI codec.)
