Harm Millaard May 1, 2012 2:02 AM (in response to Studio North Films)Last weeks news and disappoining for the AE and PR crowd. It may be nice for gamers, but not for editors. A claimed performance gain of around 70% in some games over a 680 for an almost 100% higher price, but not with PR or AE.
I'm waiting for the high end single GPU with a 384/512 bit memory bus and 4 to 6 GB memory. That would be nice. Still, even then Adobe has to make the Kepler range work with the Ray tracing 3D renderer in AE, but eventually that will come. For me this news is uninteresting.

Harm Millaard May 1, 2012 4:06 AM (in response to Studio North Films)Have a look here: http://ppbm6.com/Planning.html and specifically the video card. It is still hampered by the 256 bit bus, despite all the cores.

RjL190365 May 1, 2012 4:12 AM (in response to Harm Millaard)Actually, someone stated that the Ray-Trace feature in AE can use all of the cores in all of the installed cards. However, the GTX 600 series is not yet supported at all (even with a single GPU) in AE's Ray-Trace feature.

Studio North Films May 1, 2012 4:18 AM (in response to Harm Millaard)yes I know,
I use 3x 30" monitors and a Projecter via hdmi so the 680 is ideal for me,
if something new comes then thats even better.
the 4gb version might help in my workflow as I do regualar work with RED, colour grading, and after market plugins.
