Hi,
is there a way to do the update without unistalling previous version and then installing the new version?
Concretely, i'm asking this for versions 4.5.1 and 4.5.2.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Let me know what data you want to hold back and we can work that out.
Thanks!

Well, all the applications and configuration files for FMS and apache.
What i do usually with these updates is make a backup of what i need and then uninstall old, install new version, then copy the backuped files back.
While this is working ok, i'm interested if there is another way of doing this - like really having an update rather than a completely new installation.

Hmmm. I'm afraid there isn't any way to just simply update.
What best you can do is:
Install the new FMS (say 4.5.2) in a different location and replace the binaries of the old installation with the new ones.
Binaries to replace:
FMSMaster.exe
FMSCore.exe
FMSEdge.exe
FMSAdmin.exe
Thanks!

I'll try that, thanks.
If these exe files are the only updated files between versions - why not distribute the update that way - it should be fairly simple to pack an installation that does this....
But ok, i'll try manually.

Hey,
This is certainly NOT the recommended way to update FMS though.
This way you will have the changes that have gone into FMS but you will miss out on the changes in other modules. And if you are using HDS, HLS (where FMS has hardly any role), i will recommened for you to follow standard procedure, which is to have a clean installation and then make use of backed up your apps and conf files.
Thank You!
