I just found out that it is NOT related to one of the options.
The person with this problem send a copy to me and I am able to use the Find option with succes.
Is this fixable or is it a problem we just have to accept the way it is?

And please do ask that person that is he seeing the issue when PDF is opneed in browser or when PDF opened in Adobe Reader itself. If it is only in browser, ask the person to use 32-bit Internet Explorer and not the 64-bit one.
this is happening with one specific PDF, although i can search in it with good results.
he does not open the PDF in a browser.
Please make sure he is using the latest version od Adobe Reader i.e. 10.1.3.
What exactly is the problem, is he able to search only the first instance and not the others?
That shouldn't be the problem since the whole company is running the exact same version, and he is the only one with the problem.
also he cannot search anything, doesn't matter what you type. even if you type an a it gives no results.
Please try the following:
1. Open Reader and go to Edit->Preferences->Search.
2. Click "Purge Cache contents" and uncheck "Enable fast find".
