Flash Player for older computer?

I made the mistake of upgrading to an Adobe Flash Player that does not work on my old computer.  I have totally lost the old Flash Player which worked, and attempts to insatt the current version all fail with a "failed to initialize message"  Is there anything I can do to get a working version, or another software that will function?

Download Google Chrome. It has Flash built-in.
