does adobe work on windows professional

I have been have trouble with installing the flash player and reader.  The flash player says it is installed but I cannot watch videos on facebook (it tells me I need adobe 11 which is what I installed). And in regards to the reader when I was downloading it it said I don't have authorization or something

What web browser do you use?

Regarding Flash Player, what files do you have in

• C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash ?
• C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash ?

Regarding Adobe Reader, what is the exact message you are getting?  Are you installing as an Administrator user?
