I have same issue and tried twice, doesn't work?
OK tried that. Uninstalled. Cleaned. Reinstalled and still same.
Prompts to continue Trial or Login. After Login it then prompts for Serial.
Try clearing the browser cache and then restart the broswer and check.
whats the browser cache got to do with Photoshop???
PHOTOSHOP is prompting for a SERIAL NUMBER!
1. Uninstall Photoshop CS6
2. Run Cleaner Tool. No instances of Photoshop displayed to clean!
3. Reboot Mac.
4. Install PS CS6 via Creative Cloud.
makes no difference
PS still prompts to licence and then after authenticating creative cloud membership prompts for SERIAL.
Hmnn, that's actually strange. Do you have any other adobe appliactions installed on your machine?
Could you try removing all the adobe CS6 applications and running the Cleaner Tool and then try re-installing PS CS6 from adobe.com
I have the exact same problem as Andy. I have tried everything suggested above. Nothing works. I have been in four chat support sessions, which have been absolutely ridiculous. The support staff does not seem to know wheter you need a license number or not to activate...
I have Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom installed on the same machine. Do you mean I must remoe those as well in order to resolve this issue?
A resolution of sorts.
At this time I am waiting for my monthly Dreamweaver subscription to be upgraded to a yearly Creative Cloud subscription.
I have been advised this takes 2-3 days to invoke (ridiculous in itself).
I therefore expect Monday or Tuesday for this upgrade to have completed.
And I assume at that point that installing the CC Apps will have them licenced correctly without Serial prompt.
This has been nothing but a shambles in my opinion.
I wasted far far too much time over this issue on Friday. Not only did it affect Photoshop but also Acrobat (and who knows it may affect other apps also)
And to be honest I suspected as much there would be problems due to the complete and total lack of information concerning upgrades when CC was launched a couple of weeks back.
Why this basic and obvious upgrade path from montly app subscription to yearly CC subscription could not be invoked automatically god only knows.
As I said. SHAMBLES.
all applications removed
reinstalled Photoshop and AGAIN prompts for SERIAL
makes no difference.
uninstalled...and reinstalled setting language to Internation English and still prompts for SERIAL.
Im in Canada and using North American version so why I would even need to install using an alternative language to get the thing to work is simply ridiculous.
Move the Cache.db file to desktop and then check:-
- On Windows XP and Windows Vista, the cache.db file is located in Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache
- On Mac OS X, the cache.db file is located in Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache
