Skip the Application manager - get the Trials

I spent most of last night fighting with the Application Manager. Sometimes it would download, or not. Same with installation when the package was already downloaded. There was no consistency in which apps it would or wouldn't finish. I was able to finally get them all installed, but it took a while. Choosing "retry" would sometimes work. The Application Manager also gave my system a Kernel Panic. Twice.

      Suggestions I've tried:

      - the font deletion method

      - the cleaner app

      - the Disk Utility preferences change

      - restarting the system

      - repairing disk permissions

      None of these worked.

The only thing I've seen in working in these threads is to skip the Application Manager and download the Trials, activating with your Creative Cloud Adobe ID. If this is the only full proof way to do this, why even bother making / using the Application Manager. The other method is what retail and business users use and seems to work fine.

Even though I finally have everything installed I'm downloading the trials in case I need to do a re install in the future. Maybe by then Adobe will have worked this out. I like the simplicity of the Application Manager but in practice it's ineffective.

edit : added nots about Kernel Panics.
