I'm using Win 7-64 bit, IE 9-64 bit, Flash Player 11- 64 bit 11.2.202.235.
Problem is some websites won't display a video, as in the Rain Bird Sprinklers site where I'm trying to vew a video for cleaning the 32Sa sprinkler. The You Tube site displays videos OK. I'm using a Dell XPS8300. My laptop has no problem displaying the Rain Bird video and it also has WIN 7 and IE 9. The laptop also has an Active X plug-in that is not loaded on the desktop. I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem but don't know which plug-in to try.
Thanks for any help.

Do you have a link to the Rain Bird video in question?

Hi Chris,
This is the link:
http://www.rainbird.com/homeowner/support/video-CleaningRotorFilter.htm
Even though I have the latest version of Flash Drive: 11.2.202.235,
this is what the web page looks like on my Dell XPS 8300 (no video, no
sound):
I can pick the bottom link; Back to Rain Bird Video Support and open
other vireo tutorials and I get the same results.
I get the same results using I. E. or Firefox.
Thanks for any help,
Brian

That's what the problems. There is no image on the display. What you see
on the post is what I see on the computer's display.
Thanks,

Hi Brian,
I have no problem seeing this video on any of my browsers. Could you give Google Chrome a try to see if it also reproduces there?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I installed Opera and opened the Rain Bird link and had the same
problem. Than I uninstalled the Flash Player, 11.2.202.35, I.E version,
and re-installed it as the Opera version and now Opera opens the Rain
Bird video link properly.
BTW, before I posted on this Form, I had checked device manger and
confirmed that I have the latest version of the display driver. I've
also compared the I. E. Advanced Internet Options between my Dell
XPS8300 (the PC that I'm having the problem with) and my HP laptop
(doesn't have a problem opening the Rain Bird link) and everything was
set the same.
Thanks,
Brian

I'm not sure what the Opera version is (I don't use Opera, so maybe they have an alternative installation that I'm unaware of) but regardless, I'm glad you got it working.

Actually I was trying to find out why it won't work with I. E. as that's
the browser I use and it doesn't work with Firefox either. Some of the
websites I go to won't work with browsers other than I.E. or Firefox. Do
you have any idea's why it won't work with I.E. or Firefox on my computer?
Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,
Give Google Chrome a try, Flash player is built in and that would at least remove that variable from this problem. Next, I'd recommend updating your video driver to the latest, can you post a copy of your dxdiag report?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Just getting ready to turn in, which I should have done hours ago. You
seem to have late/ or early hours too. I mentioned before, that in
Device Manager, I checked and confirmed that the latest video driver is
loaded, I'll check into what you said here to see what that is about as
soon as I get a chance. I can check to see if Chrome is now compatible
with some of the websites that I go to but I doubt it, as I remember
some of them specifically saying that I.E. and maybe Firefox are
necessary. That's why I'm trying to get I. E. to work with the Rain Bird
Site.
Thanks,
Brian

Thanks Brian. I need to get to sleep too, coming on 2am here. The dxdiag report would still be helpful for us to take a look at when you get a chance.

Hi Chris,
Attached is the DxDiag Report you asked for.
I also tried Chrome, as requested, and it does display the Rain Bird
Site videos properly. ( In an earlier thread, I mistakenly thought you
were asking me to try Opera. Must have been another late night for me).
To recap;
I need to use I. E. as some of the sites I visit require or are
optimized for it as in my Credit Union and water company. Haven't
gone to all sites that I routinely visit to see what others there
might be.
I have the same Rain Bird Site display problem using Firefox as I do
using I .E. (no video picture, no sound).
As of yesterday and still today, I found that I do have sound (there
was no sound before) but still no video picture. I don't know what
might have caused that situation to change. However, just before
sending this email, I re-installed Flash Player, to make sure I had
the correct version, and now it's back to no video picture and no
sound with I. E.
With Chrome and Opera, the Rain Bird Site displays OK. (with Opera,
had to down load a different Flash Player other than the I. E.
version or the Rain Bird Site didn't display the video).
A while back, using Device Manger, I did check to see if the latest
version of the video driver was loaded and it said it was.
Anticipating your next possible move, just before sending this
email, I went to the AMD Site and checked there to see if I had the
latest video driver. Using their automatically detect feature, a
newer version was found and installed. Unfortunately that didn't fix
the problem.
The "DxDiag post driver upgrade" (2nd attachment) was run after the
new video driver was installed. The other DxDiag attachment was run
before the video driver upgrade.
Thanks,
Brian
