getting: "a problem accessing Organizer catalog. It may be in use by another process or a disk error occurred". Can you help? Sorry - I'm using Elements 5...
Thanks - I'll try that, but it's been doing that for 3 days now, and I shut down the PC each night. I'll give your suggestion a try.

No luck with rebooting...
What version of Windows?
After you reboot, when you look in Task Manager, are there any processes relating to PSE that are running? If so, stop them and try starting the Organizer.
Ken - thanks for the info. I'm running Windows XP. The only thing running in Task Manager is "security services communication facilitator", nothing related to PSE. Any other suggestions?
Ken - you were on the right track - as a result, I did solve the problem. I had done a project, and somehow I saved it twice without realizing it. Once I deleted one of the two, my problem was solved! From an old fart Canadian - thanks so much...
Glad you got it sorted out!
