Eric Addison May 18, 2012 2:05 PM (in response to John T Smith)I tried changing the driver, but it didn't make any difference.
Windows sees the deck - where the problem lies in when I export to tape, glitches will pop up in playback...not in the program monitor in Premiere, but in the outputed signal to the deck - I can see them on the external monitor hooked up to the deck as well as when playing back the tape.

John T Smith May 18, 2012 2:48 PM (in response to Eric Addison)I don't know about CS6, but I remember that earlier versions required you to turn hardware MPE off to be able to play out to tape

4. Re: Can't Record to firewire deck...
Eric Addison May 19, 2012 4:57 PM (in response to John T Smith)Okay - so after removing CS5.5 from my system, I've still got the problem.
And when I tried to switch PPro from GPU acceleration to Software, I got this messgae:
Premiere Pro has encountered am error [..\..\Src\VideoFrameFactory.cpp-233]
And in the Event Window it said this - An input contract has occurred
Can anyone from Adobe shed some light on this?

5. Re: Can't Record to firewire deck...
Eric Addison May 19, 2012 5:22 PM (in response to Eric Addison)One other thing that may be causing the bad playback - I told Premiere Pro to Intrepret the Footage with a PAR of 1.21 - not the ,091 it was captured with. Adjusting it back seemed to give me better playback, but I still can only seem to roll of 1-2 seconds of video before the deck stops, and export to tape window says "Successfully Recorded" when in reality it's failed...
