I neglected to say that I downloaded into Adobe Digital Editions. It appears there, and I have in on my nook but that's when it says "user not activated". My grandson has a new Kindle Fire which is a snap to borrow books from the library. I may just chuck the nook for the Kindle as I can't afford to buy books.

Generally, when this happens, it means that the Nook does not think it's

been activated. If you've used the Nook with your computer before, and it

worked, then one of those electrical gremlins may have 'removed the flux

capacitor'.... Try a physical reset of the Nook and see if your user ID

comes back.

If the Nook is new to you, then it's possible it has not yet been

registered with B&N. Log onto their website and use your Adobe ID to

register it.

RE: Kindles.... Yes, they are simple and effective. But Amazon will be

nearly the only source you will have for ebooks. Digital Editions was

built with the idea of being site-independent, and opens up your sources.
