I am unable to download adobe flash player 11 to my computer.

I am unable to download adobe flash player 11 to my computer.  When i click download, it appear to go through the entire process without a glitch, but then the software does not run, nor does it appear in the downloaded programs section of the startup menu.  i have tried the download numerous times, with and without anti-virus running....can someone help please?
