Anyone have experience with email piping using ColdFusion? Need to have contents of all emails sent to a specific email address forwarded to a ColdFusion script for insertion into a database. Need ideas?

That is what cfpop does or can be done with cfpop.

The results of cfpop gathering email is all the info is put into a query
which can be inserted into a database.

That works but that is not true email piping since you have to schedule a task in ColdFusion to run a script that checks email every couple of minutes. True email piping would tripper the script to run only when an email comes in.

I'm still looking for the second solution.

I think that CFSCHEDULE plus CFPOP is a possible CF-based solution, but not necessarily the best solution.

If you need a task to run only when email is received you will need to have some program or service that interacts directly with the mail server.  CF is not the best solution here.  It is a web application server, not a mail server.
