1. Re: H.264 Video on CS5.5 not playing at all.
IggyLights May 22, 2012 2:16 PM (in response to IggyLights)OK so I see that H.264 Apple (which I'm guessing is what this is) has some issues with Premiere. What software is recommended to re-code files?

IggyLights May 22, 2012 3:15 PM (in response to Jeff Bellune)Hi Jeff:
I had seen this before, I don't seem to have that file on my Prefrences folder though.

IggyLights May 22, 2012 4:29 PM (in response to Jeff Bellune)OK so I think I'm going to re-encode the files with Adobe Media Encoder. I'm thinking using MPEG2, would that be a good HD format for Premiere Pro? From al lI can find online it seems to be a good alternative.

Did you do the root user/permissions thing?

IggyLights May 23, 2012 12:21 AM (in response to Jeff Bellune)I've verified and repaired all permissions on it...I'll see what the root thing is about.

11. Re: H.264 Video on CS5.5 not playing at all.
IggyLights May 23, 2012 10:07 AM (in response to John T Smith)Awesome. I just did that. Interestingly enough the videos all play flwalessly on the Root account, but still won't play on my account, which I find extremely curious.
Nevertheless, Jon Chappell's Terminal command worked wonders and solved the problem. Granted I have NO idea what the sudo command is or what it did, but the damn thing works now. All very curious.
Thanks for your help, it seems to be OK for the moment! I'll update and change my setup whenever the new MBP come out this year. I've been dragging this same setup for 5 years (same Login, preferences, etc) I think its time for a restart!

John T Smith May 23, 2012 11:26 AM (in response to IggyLights)>have NO idea
Well, you know more than I do... I only saved the links to be able to help others, since I am on Windows (which at times has it's own set of permissions problems)

13. Re: H.264 Video on CS5.5 not playing at all.
IggyLights May 23, 2012 5:19 PM (in response to John T Smith)Well its partially there...if I start PP with the sudo script it works fine, but every time I close it it goes back to the not running.
