What is the advantage of using Photoshop Extended to incorporate a 3D object, as opposed to importing from a 3D tool?

The scenario re my usage would be to create a 3D light photograph/layout for a game.  So sometimes being able to create the room from wall planes with textures would be good, and then place some images/objects in the room.

So in this case I'm wondering whether it would be worth to goto "Extended" with the 3D tools.

But the question is, if say you want to incorporate a simple 3D shape in the rooms photo, whether there is any advantage to using Photoshop Extended to do this using it's 3D tools, as opposed to creating the 3D object in a separate tool (e.g. blender) and exporting an image to then incorporate in photoshop.
