I need to fix a version number in a chm file to determine
wich version a customer uses. At this moment I distinguish them by
chm's content, but I'm not happy for this choice.
Is this possible?

What I do is to use one of the custom buttons as an about
box. It opens a topic containing version number and company contact
information in a secondary window. Of course, like the other ideas
here, I have to edit that topic before I compile.
I build all version / copyright information into the footer I
added to the topic template. Then, I just have to change the
template footer whenever the version is updated. Footer displays on
screen and is printed if they print the topic.
Yes, I thought about this solution, but I wonder if there is
the possibility to do sometihing like a version number on a dll.
If there is not I'll will adopt your solution.
Many thanks.

Another thing you can do is to simply edit the Window
properties to include the version number. Of course, this too would
need to be done each time you update the version. But once it was
done, it would show up in the title bar of the .CHM.
