1. Re: Did I Read This or Was I Dreaming?
Jim Curtis May 30, 2012 11:47 AM (in response to Jay Gladwell)You may have read that about Ae. You can export an FCP XML in Pr6 and import that into previous versions, though.

jstrawn May 30, 2012 11:48 AM (in response to Jay Gladwell)What do you mean by "save under the CS 5.5 settings"? A file will save as a prproj in either case and the project settings options are identical in both. Also, you will have most, if not all, of the same sequence setting options in both apps as well.
But the project will still need to be converted to be CS6 compatible upon opening, if that's what you're wondering.

Ann Bens May 30, 2012 12:05 PM (in response to Jay Gladwell)I will have a go at this also
Do you by any chance mean editing it CS6 with a CS5.5 interface setting: yes.

Jay Gladwell May 30, 2012 12:25 PM (in response to Ann Bens)Thank you, folks, for your input!
Jim and Ann, you're probably right, now that I think about it, based on what you both said. I probably got them mixed together in my cluttered somewhere along the way.
A client just contacted me for some re-edits on a project done in CS5.5 back in March. So, like jstrawn said, I'll just bring them into CS6 and move forward.
QUESTION: Can I bring the CS5.5 project files into CS6 and save them as CS6 files without loosing the original CS5.5 project files (just as a safety procedure)? Does that make any sense?

5. Re: Did I Read This or Was I Dreaming?
Jim Curtis May 30, 2012 12:29 PM (in response to Jay Gladwell)To your additional question: You don't have a choice. Yes. Unless... you purposely overwrite the CS5.5 project with the same name. So, try to avoid that, and you'll be fine.

7. Re: Did I Read This or Was I Dreaming?
jstrawn May 30, 2012 2:26 PM (in response to Jay Gladwell)You'll be prompted to create an upgraded project isntance with an auto-iterated name when you try to open the CS5.5 project into CS6. Just accept the default name and you'll be fine.
