1. Re: how do I get Adobe Elements 10 to recognize my printer?
hatstead Jun 4, 2012 12:09 PM (in response to luvsfotos)There have been many reports about this problem with HP printers. I don't recall a report about Canon.
There is a tech note re HP units:
Do check in Control Panel>Devices and Printers to be sure that your printer is the default.
You may also want to check on the Canon web site for updated drivers.
Please let us know how you make out with this issue.

3. Re: how do I get Adobe Elements 10 to recognize my printer?
luvsfotos Jun 5, 2012 10:49 AM (in response to photodrawken)Hi Yes, I can print the photo using Paint. Also, I do have the Canon Pro 9000 Mark II printer as the default printer. I just tried a couple of things. I tried printing the photo from the ORGANIZER and it printed fine. Then I tried again to print the same photo from the EDITOR and got this message: Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer. So it looks like the ORGANIZER recognizes my Canon printer, and the EDITOR does not! How can that be? Date: Mon, 4 Jun 2012 14:38:46 -0600

9. Re: how do I get Adobe Elements 10 to recognize my printer?
luvsfotos Jun 5, 2012 2:54 PM (in response to hatstead)I installed a printer driver update and made the Canon Pro 9000 Mark II the default printer. Then I opened the Adobe Elements 10 Editor and did a FILE > PRINT. This time I got no message, but the photo didn't print. I opened the printer and it said "printer not responding". So it's still not printing.

luvsfotos Jun 7, 2012 8:51 AM (in response to photodrawken)Hi, Ken
I went to PREFERENCES in both Photoshop Elements 10 Organizer and Editor and neither had any reference to PRINTING settings. Another suggestion was to make sure it was the default printer. I did that in the Control Panel and now it's working. Thanks for your suggestions! Fran

15. Re: how do I get Adobe Elements 10 to recognize my printer?
hatstead Jun 7, 2012 9:04 AM (in response to luvsfotos)The designation of a printer as "default" becomes unticked not infrequently. I don't know how this happems, but it has been reported on this board from time to time. That's why I pointed this out in my post #2. Please mark the answer as correct so that others surfing these pages may come upon the fix.
Glad that you have it solved.
