Admiral Cook Jun 8, 2012 5:59 AM (in response to Jim Curtis)Sure it works, but you can by accident delete it without even noticing you have done it.
Because it affects several clips it may be good idea to popup confirmation dialog.

Jim Curtis Jun 8, 2012 6:00 AM (in response to Admiral Cook)I personally would not lobby for an endless stream of "are you sure" dialog boxes. There's practically no end to the ways you can screw up your projects or sequences if you're not paying attention. Welcome to the "Pro" league in Premiere Pro.

Admiral Cook Jun 8, 2012 6:10 AM (in response to Jim Curtis)I'm also not fan of are you sure dialogs but when we talk about deletion it may be good idea.

JSS1138 Jun 8, 2012 6:21 AM (in response to Admiral Cook)Given the requirements here, moving the mouse pointer over the track headers, right clicking, and then selecting Delete Track, I don't see how this can be done 'accidentally'.

If there's no Undo after any deletion, then I might agree with you. But, Extract is a deletion. You want an "Are you sure" for every extract function? I don't. What about when you delete footage items or bins? Or effects on a clip? Or clips from a Timeline?
Seriously, don't expect a lot of backing for this request. Pay better attention, and use Undo. That's why it's there.
Besides, your point is better registered as a feature request, not to a user forum:

Good luck.
