You may try the below steps and check if that helps.
> Run the Flash Player Uninstaller for Windows and remove flash player.
> Restart the machine.
> Download and Re-install Flash Player.
> Restart the browser and check.

Many thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I have tried both methods and still have no joy. I have now uninstalled Flash Player, restarted and tried to reinstall it and the same error message comes up. I then tried the Enabling Flash player link and could not see the Shockwave flash object option on the settings and Toolbars and Extensions menu. It tells me to try reinstalling Flash Player which I have tried again and still no luck. I have also made sure that the ActiveX filtering is disabled!
I’m not really sure what to do now….
I know you've said you uninstalled and reinstalled, but could you take a look at these instructions for doing a clean install to see if they help?
If they don't, the next step will be to examine your installer log.
Have you tried the Clean Install suggestion that Chris posted in his last post?
Do it, then download and run the offline installer(s) from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header
