1. Re: Does elements 10 have the perspective function in crop
99jon Jun 10, 2012 6:27 AM (in response to broomeGirl)No elements does not have perspective cropping and cloning. These are only available in creative suite.

2. Re: Does elements 10 have the perspective function in crop
MichelBParis Jun 10, 2012 7:41 AM (in response to 99jon)As a matter of fact, perspective and cropping are not groupped in a single tool : you have a two steps process :
1- correct perspective (Menu Image Transform Perspective).
2 - crop
That exists in my PSE6 and PSE10 version.
So, you can achieve easily what you want in 2 steps.

3. Re: Does elements 10 have the perspective function in crop
99jon Jun 10, 2012 7:52 AM (in response to MichelBParis)Except there is no vanishing point filter. Elements is restricted to the lens correction filter or the limitations of free transform which are naturally quite different to what is available in CS.

Yes, but I have been successfully and quickly correcting perspective for years with PSE, so I think that new PSE users reading your post will be misled, and they will think they can't correct perspective.

photodrawken Jun 10, 2012 9:10 AM (in response to MichelBParis)I agree, and the free Perspective Transformation plugin:
http://www.vicanek.de/plugins/perspective.htm
makes correcting perspective distortion even easier.

Once again, thanks Ken !
I'll keep it, even though I have DxO which can give optimal results.
That said, the filter 'Correct lens distortion' (already present in PSE6) is simple and efficient, plus it includes a zoom level to crop (bottom slider).
Better than the 'Transform / perspective' adjustment I am used to.

photodrawken Jun 10, 2012 1:07 PM (in response to MichelBParis)Michel,
Wow! That DxO software looks interesting. Too expensive for me, but its corrections for volume distortion and geometric perspective are impressive. Seems to be similiar to the features in the "big" Photoshop....

broomeGirl Jun 10, 2012 4:30 PM (in response to MichelBParis)Wow thanks for all your answers, very much appreciated. So the answer to my question is yes but it is a two step process. Many of my clients images of her paintings are not taken from the correct angle and are sold so cannot be retaken, therefore to get them straight and good enough for her website is essential.

9. Re: Does elements 10 have the perspective function in crop
photodrawken Jun 10, 2012 4:42 PM (in response to broomeGirl)I've tried both the PSE perspective correction and the Perspective Transformation plugin on a photo of a painting, and it's much easier to use the plugin for that.

broomeGirl Jun 10, 2012 6:35 PM (in response to photodrawken)Thanks .. sounds like the goal can be achieved so I will tell my client to purchase.
