    AAMEE 2.1 question

    kevin.cecil Community Member

I want to deploy InDesign and InCopy CS5 7.0.5 b572 (rapid release builds) to my users. AAMEE won't use the .dmg from the download. It reverts back to trying to use the 7.0.4 release from the web.

How do I force AAMEE 2.1 to use the .dmg with the 7.0.5 AdobePatchInstaller?

          Kevin,

AAMEE 2.1 will always try and bring in the latest updates when it has an internet connection available. If you take the machine offline, you will then be able to point it at the DMG file you have that contains the updates.

Let me know if this does not work.

          Cheers

Yes, this worked. Question, though. The version I am attempting to install is newer than the one available via the update mechanism. Why won't it let me choose the newer one?

              Hi Kevin,

Reason for that is - we have seperate server from where  AAMEE (or Adobe Updater) pulls updates from. So latest updates available on that server (in this case it is 7.0.4 ) will be shown on AAMEE updates screen. Normally update posted on update server (from where AAMEE pulls updates from) and on web are same and latest, but on few occassions, there are updates which are posted only on web, so you dont see them in AAMEE but are available on web. But such updates are very less, so suggest workaround helps in deploying such updates.

              thanks,
