Hi -
When I right-click on a file (Mac OS 10.7) and move to the "Open With" option I get a huge list. For instance if I right-click on a PSD file I see multiple versions of the same app on the list, like Photoshop CS5, Photoshop CS5.1, Photoshop CS 5.5. I can't think of any reason why I would ever want to use an older version of Photoshop. And it's not only Photoshop. The list includes 2 versions of AE, FW, Flash, 3 versions of AI, and Media Encoder.
I've gone into the "Get Info" of a PSD and selected a default app but that hasn't narrowed the list of apps. I've been in the Terminal and refreshed the "LaunchServices" database with no success.
I'm appealing to this forum.
Is there a script, preference, 3rd party app, incantation that will reduce this list to the relevant app - or at least only one version of the apps being listed?
TIA your help,
jl
I'm sure this is stored in some .plist file somewhere, but this is really more a generic Mac question, so asking it on a Mac forum is more likely to yield any answers...
