Here it is again: Warning: The size of stop file has to be limited in 512 bytes. Working in RH9 (corporate desktop). Have been generating this project file fine for a week, but started getting the relentless "stop file...512 bytes" message. The file is generated but the executable file opens to a frozen front screen. Please help.

The Stop message always appears regardless of whether the file is under or over the size. Ignore it unless you have created a truly massive Stop list.

It's almost impossible to help you with that amount of information. Please read the Before You Post sticky topic. Are you using RoboHelp HTML or RoboHelp for Word and which version?

Is you project local?

What executable file? In other words, what sort of help are you creating? A CHM, WebHelp or what?

Where are you generating to, local drive or network?

I'm guessing you are generating a CHM to a network drive or moving it there. Correct?

Using RH9 HTML

Not local.

Generating MS HTML file.

To corporate network drive.

Sorry for vagueness earlier. Not fully tech savvy, obviously.

Could space or memory be an issue?

Thanks

Got a couple of problems there - your project needs to be local (c:\projects\{project_name}\ ) - RH doesn't play well over networks; generating your .chm locally and then copying it will work better, but you still can run into security issues when you try to run it (depends on where it's going to live).

CHMs on a network drive are a known issue. See http://www.grainge.org/pages/authoring/chm_mspatch/896358.htm
