1. Re: InDesign & InCopy
BobLevine Jun 20, 2012 12:26 PM (in response to phyllisj9)That would be a major mistake, IMO. NEVER move an InDesign file that’s the source of an InCopy workflow.
Nothing good can possibly come of that.

2. Re: InDesign & InCopy
phyllisj9 Jun 20, 2012 12:29 PM (in response to BobLevine)Okay I guess I'll risk it then. I just worry about working on a file that's being saved to an external server (it has to drag across the Internet before it can save!), but I'll give it a try. I thought maybe local work + resaving would be safer. I don't have any other options that I can think of.

3. Re: InDesign & InCopy
BobLevine Jun 20, 2012 12:32 PM (in response to phyllisj9)You can try it the other way if you really need to but I’d make sure EVERYTHING is backed up before doing so.
Dropbox would be a better solution for this.

4. Re: InDesign & InCopy
phyllisj9 Jun 20, 2012 1:33 PM (in response to BobLevine)We do have a perpetual backup of the server. But maybe it'll be okay saving long-distance like that. Doesn't Dropbox work the same way? Maybe I'm just being overly paranoid about non-local servers.
Thanks, Phyllis
