RodWard Jun 22, 2012 7:27 PM (in response to rygaar)Are you testing this Aggregator solution from a web server or from a LAN server?
Have you marked the SWF with the preloader as the one that will be seen as the main SWF to control the Aggregator skin settings?

3. Re: How to make Aggregator use embedded swf preload settings
rygaar Jun 23, 2012 5:58 AM (in response to RodWard)RodWard I am testing it from a web server.
The SWF with the preloader has been marked as the "Master Movie" in the Aggregator interface, so the project adopts that SWF's TOC settings. I don't know whether this is the setting you are referring to. In Aggregator's "Select Preloader" field, I've tried both entering the same preloader as that of the master file and leaving things blank.
To see what I'm referring to, please consider the movies below:
- The SWF file itself whose preload = 10%: www.gmatfix.com/docs/x_embed_10.swf
- A copy of the same file but with preload = 99%: www.gmatfix.com/docs/x_embed_99.swf
- Aggregator project with a copy of the movie file whose preload = 10%: www.gmatfix.com/docs/x_aggr_10_project.swf (source file is x_aggr_10.swf in same folder)
- Aggregator project with a copy of the movie file whose preload = 99%: www.gmatfix.com/docs/x_aggr_99_project.swf (source file is x_aggr_99.swf in same folder)
In all 4 cases the movie file is 13,464KB in size.

4. Re: How to make Aggregator use embedded swf preload settings
RodWard Jun 23, 2012 7:13 AM (in response to rygaar)In addition to SWF files, an Aggregator project should be launched with an HTM file and have another JS file called standard.js.
Are you using this setup for your aggregator files or just pointing directly at SWF files on your server?

5. Re: How to make Aggregator use embedded swf preload settings
rygaar Jun 23, 2012 11:44 AM (in response to RodWard)Rodward I access the swf directly from a flash player within a desktop application, thus bypassing the HTM and JS files (HTM and JS are not published to the server). The use case is as follows:
The desktop application has a list of math questions. For each question there are one to three movies (SWF) that contain lessons. Each question's movies are assembled in an aggregator project. From the application, a flash player directly accesses and displays the SWF published by aggregator so the user can navigate through the math question's movies through the table of contents.

6. Re: How to make Aggregator use embedded swf preload settings
RodWard Jun 23, 2012 10:59 PM (in response to rygaar)OK. Then that's probably why your preloaders are not working. When you try to access the SWF directly it will just treat it as a normal file download.
Try using the HTM and JS files as Captivate streaming content was designed to work, and make sure you are testing from a web server, not on a local hard drive or LAN. See if your preloader will work then.
