1. Re: how to empty a loaded cursor
Steve Werner Jun 28, 2012 11:18 AM (in response to cyberbaffled)Press the Escape key when you have content in a cursor. This "frees" frees the cursor and drops the content without placing it.

2. Re: how to empty a loaded cursor
cyberbaffled Jun 28, 2012 11:40 AM (in response to Steve Werner)Yes, I had discovered that, and I'm giving Steve credit for the help. However, I have an ID "book" with umpteen chapters and every one beginning with the third opens with the loaded cursor. My belief is that this is a bug in the software and I'd like to correct for this bug and unload the cursor permanently the very first time it occurs; rather than have to "esc" the cursor with the opening of every chapter.

Steve Werner Jun 28, 2012 11:44 AM (in response to cyberbaffled)I don't understand why opening a book chapter would activate a loaded cursor. Is this a text placement cursor or a graphic placement cursor?

4. Re: how to empty a loaded cursor
P Spier Jun 28, 2012 11:53 AM (in response to Steve Werner)I don't see anything like this in CS6 (didn't check any other version) when creating a new file, loading the cursor and quitting without either placing or saving, or whensaving the file, then loading the cursor, closing the file withoutsaving and reopening it from the recent list.
I suggest you take a lokk at Replace Your Preferences
