I have a user in my organization attempting to open a .PDF file in IE8 with Adobe Reader X and keeps getting an old revision of the file. When other users log on to the same PC and put in the URL to the same .PDF file then the newer revision of the file opens.
The only thing that I can think is that for some reason the user's Adobe Reader keeps loading an old version in cache. I have deleted IE Internet cookies & temporary files, but that didn't seem to help. I also opened Adobe Reader Preferences | Page Display and unchecked "Use Page Cache", but that didn't help. Neither did unchecking the boxes under Prefernces | Internet for "Allow fast web view" nor "Allow speculative downloading in the background".
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Out of curiousity, try using a different browser and see what happens? Which version gets downloaded?
Then try to use MSIE and right-click on the url and download the file? Which version of the file gets downloaded?
