    Application Manager no longer managing

How can I re-set Application Manager to recognize when there are updates available?

A week or two ago, I noted on an Adobe security blog that the new security updates for both Illustrator and Photoshop were available for download. So, I went ahead and downloaded and manually installed the updates. No problems. Install went cleanly and the apps ran great.

A couple of days later, though, Application Manager pops-up telling me that there are updates for Illustrator and Photoshop. I run the AAM updates, the installs fail and hose both Illustrator and Photoshop. "Hose" as in "won't launch".

I replace the broken apps with pre-security-update versions I had on a backup drive, and both are happily working again, though they are both now back at the pre-security-update versions (15.0.2 and 12.0.4 respectively). I now assumed Application Manager would see the apps needed updated and would correctly apply the security updates. However, AM reports that all apps are up-to-date. Um...no. They aren't

I'm pretty reluctant to manually run the security updates again, since it's now obvious that AAM doesn't recognize any updates other than those run through AAM, and I risk hosing the apps again. But, it seems obvious that AAM isn't recognizing that the apps need updated. Is there a way to re-set AAM...get it to re-build whatever database it references in order for it to recognize and apply the security updates? Something short of re-installing CS5, hopefully.
