Noel Carboni May 11, 2012 9:09 AM (in response to psurace99)It's a pretty blatant bug, but some workarounds have been discovered.
It has to do with having your Windows Taskbar up at the top of the display.
You can work around the bug by setting your Taskbar to Auto-Hide itself.

Hi Patrick,
I'm not seeing this behavior.
Does this happen only when your images are floating in windows?
Did it ever work correctly in Photoshop CS6?
Have you tried resetting your preferences? (restart Photoshop and immediately press & hold Shift+Opt+Ctrl.)
If you choose to Tile or Cascade your images, does that move the images into a normal position?
Do you have any third party plug-ins?
Did you move any plug-ins from a previous version of Photoshop in to CS6?
Please restart Photoshop and press Shift immediately after, and say Yes that you want to not load your plug-ins and see if that helps.
thanks!

psurace99 May 11, 2012 10:10 AM (in response to Noel Carboni)Thank you all!!!
Noel, your solution was excellent. I am a top bar user (I used to be a Mac Guy). I will use the bar auto-hidden until it is fixed. (Adobe, please fix this). :-)
Tina. I've just downloaded and noticed this as I am a top bar user as Noel mentioned. I didn't go through all those items as i've not installed anything other than a fres CS6 this morning.
This works though! Thank you.

Ellive Faninx May 27, 2012 7:54 PM (in response to psurace99)I have that bug, too.
Photoshop CS6 in Windows 7 64bit, I also use Wacom Tablet. I can't move window correctly, I hate the bug,

ratbagandmooch Jun 16, 2012 10:14 PM (in response to Ellive Faninx)I'm having the same issue, and I have my Windows taskbar at the top of the screen too.
Someone at the top of this thread said that "some workarounds" have been discovered; is there another besides auto-hiding the taskbar? I'd really rather not do that, it messes up my workflow. I think I might just keep using CS5 until Adobe gets this bug fixed.

14. Re: Photoshop CS6 Unbelieveable bug!
Eric Stoffers Jun 17, 2012 9:12 AM (in response to ratbagandmooch)This bug is very annoying. The worst part is this bug was announced WELL before the final release and Adobe released the software knowing the bug existed. That's pretty unexcusable in my opinion. I can't even use CS6 with this problem, hiding the main taskbar is NOT an option for me, are they kidding?

15. Re: Photoshop CS6 Unbelieveable bug!
Noel Carboni Jun 17, 2012 9:20 AM (in response to Eric Stoffers)Another workaround is to use Tabbed view.
Regarding the software being released after the bug having been reported during beta, that's a particular beef of mine as well about Adobe's processes... Consider the fact that the released software has a build date of several days BEFORE the start of the public beta.
Thing is, it's probably unreasonable to hold release until every known bug is eradicated, but this is kind of an obvious one, and it was (potential) customer-reported.
I'm not sure what kind of meetings were held to discuss going forward with the release, but this problem and the one also found during beta where text gets corrupted and the corruption is saved in the PSD file make me wonder what would be considered a "show stopper" bug. Add to this the fact that the help documentation really still is not done and it sure seems like the pressure to release must be unreasonable.
Looking forward to the 13.0.1 update...

Eric Stoffers Jun 17, 2012 6:25 PM (in response to Noel Carboni)Ugh, I hate the tabs view more than than the snap glitch. I'm not sure if any designers actually work that way, I can't imagine having multiple documents open and using tabs on a 30" monitor, not for me, defeats the purpose of it all.
Anyhow, all these bugs are pretty bad. I had the text corruption bug as well but just assumed they fixed it before the final release. If they didn't then I'm definitely downgrading the CS5. That was a show stopper bug and a half to put it lightly.
Exactly how can ANY bugs be allowed to go into a final release? That is insanity. Not happy.

iCjay Jul 6, 2012 3:18 AM (in response to psurace99)Another work around is to use Photoshop cs6 on a duel monitor, I have my desktop on one and photshop on the other, problem solved and yes my taskbar is on the top. Really if your a graphic designer you should have more then one monitor right? I'm not trying to be snarky here but..... 8)

20. Re: Photoshop CS6 Unbelieveable bug!
Eric Stoffers Jul 6, 2012 2:49 PM (in response to iCjay)HA, I say two monitors is a poor mans setup. One 28+ monitor is FAAAAR better. Who wants some black bar down the center? Not me. Get a big monitor, they are cheap these days for a nice IPS, not much more than a grand for a decent one.

21. Re: Photoshop CS6 Unbelieveable bug!
station_two Jul 6, 2012 6:03 PM (in response to Eric Stoffers)There are several reasons why multiple monitors are far superior to a super-wide one. Chief among those reasons is the ability to set them at an angle to each other so as to minimize head turning and viewing angle distortion. The tone of your post makes it unnecessary to address other reasons in detail. You're just trolling.

the_wine_snob Jul 6, 2012 6:08 PM (in response to station_two)Personally, I prefer dual large monitors, and also an NTSC calibrated monitor, to grade my video.
Whether in PS, or PrPro, there is no substitute for monitor real estate.

iCjay Jul 6, 2012 8:30 PM (in response to Eric Stoffers)Well actually I have 3- 28inch monitors, two side by side and one in portrait mode. So I wouldn't say my setup is personally a poor mans party. If you only have one monitor when working in a professional environment then I would say your boss is either cheap or your not a professional. Like I said I can only offer what works for me, when it comes to this crappy bug in Photoshop cs6 that's been around since FREAKING MAY, ADOBE< HOW EMBARRASSING IT MUST BE>>>>>ADOBE FAIL!!! 8(

ratbagandmooch Jul 7, 2012 7:31 AM (in response to station_two)If you guys are quite done bragging about the size of your equipment, I'd like to pursue the dual monitor issue. Opening Photoshop CS6 on my second monitor had occurred to me as a possible solution, and it was one of the first things I tried. But when I open files they snap to the top left corner of my primary monitor, so it's still impossible to have two images open at once. iCjay - when you did this, were you able to move images around on your desktop?

31. Re: Photoshop CS6 Unbelieveable bug!
the_wine_snob Jul 7, 2012 7:41 AM (in response to iCjay)There is nothing to worry about. I thought that the juxtaposition of those two words was rather humorous, as you WERE "dueling" with a problem.
I got nailed just the other day, but using "loose," where I meant "lose." A week before, I could have blamed that on a sticking O Key on my laptop, but I had just replaced the keyboard, so my excuse went out the window. Also, with that sort of thing, SpellCheck will not flag it. Guess that you could safely say that I got *loose* with "lose."
Stuff happens... now put that gun down!
Happy editing,

32. Re: Photoshop CS6 Unbelieveable bug!
the_wine_snob Jul 7, 2012 7:47 AM (in response to ratbagandmooch)Julie,
You can change the display of Images from Tabbed View, and should then be able to have multiple Images Open and, depending on their Magnification, and your monitor real estate, drag them side-by-side. That Tabbed View is not something that I use, being the "old-timer," that I am. I like to be able to see all, or at least a big part, of what I am working on, when I need multiple Images Open.
If I am just Opening multiple Images, but working on them one at a time, I let them Tile, and do not need to see any, but the one that is being edited.
If you have Tabbed View (the new default), try Tiling the Images. Unless I am missing something important, a click+drag should get you what you want.
Good luck, and if I AM missing an important element, then just ignore my suggestion.

36. Re: Photoshop CS6 Unbelieveable bug!
ratbagandmooch Jul 11, 2012 1:30 PM (in response to the_wine_snob)Thanks for the response,Hunt, but nothing seems to help. I don't like working in Tabbed View - quite often I'm moving layers between images so I like to have both/all open at the same time. However, I tried opening two images and tiling them as you suggested; the only result of that is that now, instead of snapping to the top left of my primary monitor, as they were doing, they snap to the top left of the secondary monitor. I still can't move them anywhere, on either monitor. I think I'm just going to have to stick with CS5 until they get this fixed (they WILL get it fixed, won't they?)

37. Re: Photoshop CS6 Unbelieveable bug!
sixthcrusifix Jul 28, 2012 4:35 PM (in response to psurace99)This is pretty much unacceptable to me. I blame Microsoft more than Adobe; I've been using the taskbar on top for years (it actually makes much more sense, I think) and I have had issues with programs opening underneath it or not working properly since WINDOWS XP.
Adobe needs to fix this ASAP because it's pretty sad that this new program has such a blatant and intrusive bug but the greater point here is that part of Windows needs to be re-written because it's not something software developers should be having to worry about.

39. Re: Photoshop CS6 Unbelieveable bug!
Eric Stoffers Jul 28, 2012 9:01 PM (in response to sixthcrusifix)The taskbar at the top makes TONS more sense. That's where all the other menus and app controls are, why move your mouse all the way down to the bottom, that makes NO sense. I don't understand how any serious computer user can put the taskbar at the bottom, that's just foolishness to me. It certainly makes you a little slower as you have to move your eyes and mouse further.
I'm not bothering with CS6 until this bug is fixed, it's a total deal killer for me.
