<robohelp 9> Insert link to go to the top of page

Hi all,

I intend to insert a link called "To the top" at some places in each topic. When users click to this link, they will be moved to the begining of the topic.

If i put this link to the master page then apply this master page to all topics. So there is any way to hide this link automatically if the topic content is short and doesn't need to use this link ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there

Are you actually using RoboHelp for Word and creating WinHelp?

Cheers... Rick

No you are not. RoboHelp HTML does not generate WinHelp. Half your statement is wrong. Question is "which half?"

I am using RoboHelp HTML to generate Microsoft HTML Help, and I think it is WinHelp also.

They are different beasts. Microsoft HTML Help, indeed any HTML page, can have a jump to Top but I have not seen anyone post a method of hiding it in short topics. I can only suggest using two masterpages and applying the one without the link to the short topics.

Bear in mind what fits the depth of your screen might not fit the screens of your users so what you call a short topic might not be on their screen.

I do understand why you want to hide the link.

Thanks Peter, my confusion is whether there is any way to hide or show that link upon the topic content fits to the screen or over the screen. Now I know the answer is No.

Thank you.

Moving this thread to a different forum category as it really doesn't deal with WinHelp.
